Our largest study yet found that people living with dementia and MCI preserved cognitive function well beyond what's expected without treatment.

We're proud to announce that NewDays is presenting new clinical findings at AAIC 2026, the Alzheimer's Association International Conference, the largest gathering of dementia researchers in the world.

At AD/PD earlier this year, we shared early results from our first patient cohort after 3-5 months of treatment. The signal was real, but it was early. This month, at AAIC in London, Dr. Esra Al will present findings from a larger, longer case series, 24 patients this time, tracked over an average of 7 months instead of 12-20 weeks, and for the first time, we're able to share that a randomized controlled trial led by Kaiser Permanente in California is already underway.

The results didn't just hold up over a longer period. They got stronger.

What We Found

Twenty-four patients (12 living with dementia, 11 with Mild Cognitive Impairment, one with other cognitive symptoms) completed NewDays' blended program: biweekly telehealth sessions with a licensed clinician, combined with daily AI-guided cognitive exercises through Sunny, our AI cognitive trainer.

Dementia patients preserved roughly a year and a half of cognitive function. Comparing results to published research on expected decline without treatment, all 12 dementia patients in the study outperformed their expected trajectory, exceeding it by more than 8 points on a gold-standard cognitive test (ACE-III, p<0.001). That gap represents roughly 1.5 years of cognitive function preserved, function that, without intervention, these patients would typically be expected to lose.

Improvement wasn't limited to the dementia subgroup. Across the full group of 24 patients, 18 improved on global cognition testing, with an average gain of over 4 points (p<0.001).

Memory got better, and patients felt it. Verbal memory scores improved significantly, and patients reported meaningful improvements in how satisfied they felt with their own memory.

Mood trended in the right direction. The majority of patients saw stable or improved symptoms of depression (79%) and anxiety (67%). The direction here is encouraging.

Why This Matters

"Our goal isn't to add years. It's to add quality to the years people have, so they can live the way they want, not the way their disease forces them to live. When someone is facing cognitive impairment, time is everything." — Babak Parviz, Co-founder & CEO, NewDays

"NewDays clinic and treatments have been a blessing to our family. We have grammy back!" — Andrea, daughter of a NewDays patient

These results matter because they answer the question we knew would come after AD/PD: does this hold up at scale, over time, against a real benchmark? With a larger cohort, a longer observation window, and results measured against published no-treatment decline rates rather than just raw improvement, the answer is yes.

We're still early. Twenty-four patients is not a randomized trial, and we say that plainly. But that's exactly why the next chapter matters.

What's Next

NewDays is now enrolled in a randomized controlled trial with Kaiser Permanente in California (NCT07474038), designed to test these findings under the kind of rigorous, controlled conditions the science ultimately requires.

The wait-and-see era of cognitive decline is over. We're not just saying it. We're proving it, one study at a time.
