Question:
What's One Piece of Advice Every Caregiver Should Remember?
Answer by Rachel Murphy:
If I could share one piece of advice with caregivers, it would be this: meet your loved one where they are.
It's easy to focus on what has changed, but meaningful support often comes from accepting who that person is today.
Slow down, listen, and focus on connection. The goal isn't to fix someone. It's to support them with dignity, compassion, and understanding.
Meeting your loved one where they are can help create more meaningful moments and make the caregiving experience feel more connected for both of you.
