Sixth State Launch Brings Medicare-Covered Cognitive Treatment to Nevada's 576,000 Older Adults, as NewDays Closes Its Seed Round at $16M and Reports Its Strongest Clinical Results to Date

SEATTLE โ€“ September 2, 2026

NewDays today announced that its science-backed cognitive treatment is now available in Nevada, the company's sixth state launch following Washington, California, Florida, Texas and New York. NewDays offers a science-backed cognitive health treatment purpose-built for people experiencing cognitive change, mild cognitive impairment or dementia. The blended program pairs telehealth visits every two weeks with a licensed cognitive health clinician alongside daily AI-guided cognitive exercises with Sunny, the company's AI brain trainer. Telehealth visits are covered by Medicare.

GeekWire covered the company's next phase this week โ€” [read the story here]

Ending the "Wait and See" Era for Nevadans
For decades, a diagnosis of mild cognitive impairment or dementia has come with a standard set of instructions: wait and see, make healthy lifestyle changes, get your affairs in order, come back in six months. That guidance leaves people living with MCI and dementia, and their care partners, with nothing to do. There is something you can do. More than 300 randomized controlled trials - the gold standard of clinical research -show that non-drug treatments such as cognitive training, cognitive rehabilitation and guided daily conversations can slow decline and improve quality of life. NewDays draws its methods and materials from across that body of research, including the I-CONECT trial, to which the company holds an exclusive license. The challenge has never been efficacy. It has been access.

Meeting the Urgent Need in Nevada
One in three Americans over 65 is living with a serious cognitive condition: 11% with dementia and another 22% with mild cognitive impairment. Roughly 92% of MCI goes undiagnosed. Nationally, 7 million Americans are living with dementia, and long-term tracking projections show a steady trajectory toward 1 million new cases annually by 2060 as the Baby Boomer generation ages.
Nevada is home to approximately 576,000 residents aged 65 and older. Applied to that population, the national rate suggests roughly 190,000 older Nevadans are living with dementia or mild cognitive impairment today. Cognitive rehabilitation therapy has been proven to help this group for years, and almost none of them have had access to it. Until now.

Real-World Outcomes
In July, NewDays presented peer-reviewed clinical data at the Alzheimer's Association International Conference (AAIC). Over a 3-12 month treatment period, NewDays patients experienced:
โ€ข Meaningful time preserved. Patients living with dementia gained roughly 1.5 years of cognitive function relative to the published no-treatment trajectory.
โ€ข Improved cognitive function. 75% showed measurable improvements in cognitive scores.
โ€ข Better mental health. Two out of three reported stable or improved symptoms of depression (79%) and anxiety (67%).
โ€ข Regained independence. Patients report rejoining favorite activities and improved quality of life.
These results are consistent with what NewDays clinicians have observed since the company's earliest patients.

Reach and Rigor at the Same Time
The Nevada launch arrives alongside several other company milestones. NewDays has closed its seed round at $16 million, backed by General Catalyst and Madrona. The company is also running a randomized controlled trial with Kaiser Permanente in California, enrolling by invitation, and will publish a paper later this year on building AI that is safe for this population. Partnership traction has followed the same pattern. Mission-aligned organizations partner with NewDays, all looking for an evidence-based treatment they can offer their patients, clients or residents after a diagnosis - a gap that no existing program fills.

"Our goal isn't necessarily to prolong lifespan but rather it's to add quality to the years people have. This next phase is about reach and rigor at the same time. Rigor means the Kaiser trial. Reach means more states, and Nevada is the newest. Cognitive rehabilitation therapy has been proven to help people living with dementia or cognitive impairment for years, and almost none of them have access to it. Generative AI is what finally lets us deliver a medically proven intervention at that scale. That's the whole thesis of the company."
