Inside the AI Companies Reshaping Caregiving for America’s 63 Million Caregivers
From fall detection to emotional support, artificial intelligence is the new frontier in aging tech, stepping in to help millions of family caregivers.

Artificial intelligence is transforming how we work and live—and it’s reshaping how we age. The vast majority of adults over age 50 are welcoming the role of new technology, albeit with some hesitancy, according to a report from the AARP in 2024.
And for the 63 million caregivers in America, AI tools are quickly becoming trusted care partners. It’s an innovation many are embracing, as more than three-quarters of older adults hope to stay in their homes as they age.
From fall detection and medication management to social companionship and appointment coordination, AI is playing a larger role in caregiving and may be the ticket to easing the burden on human caregivers, allowing them to focus more on the meaningful connection over the administrative logistics.
NewDays
NewDays is a treatment platform for cognitive decline that includes telehealth appointments and personalized brain exercises. The technology utilizes AI trained on a randomized controlled trial from Harvard, called I-CONECT, which investigated how conversations can mitigate symptoms of cognitive decline. “Recent breakthroughs in generative AI and natural language processing have created an entirely new landscape for delivering personalized cognitive care,” cofounders Babak Parviz and Daniel Kelly tell Flow Space. “We can now hold long-form guided conversations with an AI system. We have also tightly integrated the AI with the expert human, all under the supervision of a human clinician.”
As a caregiver for a parent or loved one experiencing cognitive decline, the platform aims to serve as a supporter and a treatment plan.
